Welcome to my world

 I don’t understand. Boy how those three little words can cause such a disturbance. People do not comprehend how I think and I cannot comprehend how “normal” people think. This is drilled into me. How can you not understand? It’s simple, I don’t! You are purposely being obtuse. No, I’m not. I really do not think like you. 

I believe that facts are fact until they are not. The color red is in fact red, unless you’re color blind, then it is in fact gray.  Red may mean  hot to someone blind. They don’t know the color red.  Boy, does that piss people off.

I don’t get upset people don’t understand my way of thinking. I try to explain that one person’s fact is not necessarily someone else’s. I don’t understand why they get so upset. Red is in fact red only because you were told it is red. Grey is in fact red to a color blind person. They’ve been told an Apple is red and all they see is grey. Boy does that piss people off. 

It’s very frustrating when I ask a question. I try to see it the way it’s explained but my mind doesn’t comprehend it. So I ask another question and another, and another. Then I’ll just stop asking because people get mad

I would give my shirt off my back to help someone. I often see myself as a door mat. I let them walk all over me. I give and give and I love doing it most of the time. Sometime though, I see that it doesn’t do any good, I’ll never be accepted for who I am. I chose to give to sponges. They take and take until I have no more to give. I expect the more I give that they will love me. It doesn’t work that way. I just want to be loved the way I love. Just once. I would like to feel like people want me around for me. The Journey begins

 So this is the beginning of the middle of my life. So far, I have not learned who I am. I thought I knew. I have been a daughter, a wife, a mother, a girlfriend, a grandmother and a lover. Yet, these are what I have done not who I am. These should not define me, yet they are the terms I have used as my definition. As each one fades into the past, I have felt a part of how I describe myself disappearing. Each time I try to reinvent myself yet I still feel smaller and less. So, I’m am going to learn who I am not what I am.  I have often wondered how others describe me. Do they see me as nice, sweet, a pain in the butt, mean? I’m sure I have been all of these and more. Am I selfish, evil, and manipulative ? Do some see me as a door mat? I have probably been these to some as well. If he only knew

 I am the type of person that can’t do anything half ass. I am always all in or not at all. This includes love.  I love beyond measure. I place my heart in the person’s hand for them to care for it. How they care for it is up to them. I expect them to care for it the way I would care for theirs. That’s not always the case. Love comes in many forms and my expectations follow those forms.  My sons are my breath. I love them in such a way that I would give them my last breath. I raised them to be independent and to move on to create their own little worlds. I think I did a fine job. As well or better than my parents did.  My parents are a part of me. Without them, I wouldn’t know how to love and how not to love. I learned both sides of the coin from them.
